Misc I have made my decision.. - Page 7

I have made the decision to go ahead and have my surgery. It will be having it in February. I have already been cleared for it. I am going to use my tax check to pay up my bills. I am nervous.

Has anyone on here had decompression surgery on the L5 and S1? I would like to know what its like when you go home and how well it releived your pain. Or if you had problems after surgery that ended up making you regret having it to start with.

Input will be helpful as I am very scared.

Well my insurance company told them there is a 100 dollar copay and then its paid 100%, if I am admitted it will pay 90 % and I pay 10 % with zero deductible.

I have asked to talk to him and the nurse calls me back, I asked her exactly what kind of surgery I was having and she said decompression, then I find out there are several kinds, so I don't exactly know which kind they are doing. I can talk to him the morning of the surgery, I have to be there at 5am and it starts at 7:30am

No doubt the 100% of outpatient charges are a lot less than 90% of inpatient charges.

update, I had my surgery, seems I had a bone spur shaped like a hour glass wrapped around my nerve. He took it off and took out part of the disc. My hip hurts and my back is still swollen, but still feels a lot better compared to what it was. Just can't wait to get back to work.

It never stopped my flexibality anyhow.

I am suppose to start physical therpy after my visit on the 1st. Being out of work is killing me. Don't know what to do for the rest of the time i am going to be off.
