Tonight I had an admit and was told "This woman is a Nurse Practitioner, that works for Dr. so and so and if you don't mind just make sure she is taken good care of, show her special attention in what you do and care for her."

I responded "Are you shitting me?!!, she will be treated no better than any of my other patients I don't care if she is the president of the United States"

This shit makes me sick, thinking someone deserves to be treated better or shown more attention because of their job status. I know this probably happens in every profession, say you work in a plant and the General Manager or the President shows up of course there are ass kissing going on, but in the medical field with sick patients its different everyone deserves to be treated the same. I will not treat her badly or ignore this patient but damned if she will be getting treated any different.

Here in America, we don't tolerate that type of attitude Missy. Dude pulls out a Blue Cross/Blue Shield insurance card and you better pull off the hot nurse on floor three to make sure this cat gets a sponge bath four times a day. And the good pills.
