I was listening to Coli Cowherd on the radio

He was slamming Denver for bad drafting. He said forget about Cutler for now, and then cited the Maurice Clarret pick and trading away draft picks for marginal players. We have discussed our own poor drafting in here numerous times, but I never really thought about the . Is he right? I think they did pretty well on TD an Portis. Shanarat has been reputed for drafting good backs in late rounds, but is that all hes done well?

Maybe not as sad as ours, but he's also changed D coordinators about 100 times. The guy has done nothing since Elway retired. He is Marty living on borrowed time. Here's to Denver keeping the genius around.

P.S. His son and Simms may have the gayest "friendship" ever publicly reported on in the NFL...

ENJOY.. http://www.mackbrown-texasfootball.c...d_for_life.pdf
Yeah...the tattoo thing was VERY gay. One poster on our board remarked (in a thread debating whether we should sign Simms as a backup QB) that it would be awkward for Shanahan to be coaching his son in law.

Heh.

That is too narrow of a view. You look at what he did. Every time Dre Bly makes a play, or provides something of value to us, that COUNTS under the assessment of Bell as a draft choice, because that is part of what he gave the team. You are looking at it in a vacuum and that isnt really reflective of all the circumstances.

The average or better players in my mind are:

2006
Jay Cutler
Elvis Dumervil
(possibly) Brandon Marshall

2005
Darrent Williams

2004
D.J. Williams

2003
George Foster

2002
Clinton Portis
Jeb Putzier

2001
Reggie Hayward
Ben Hamilton

2000
Deltha O'Neal
Ian Gold
Kenoy Kennedy
Mike Anderson

1999
Al Wilson
Montae Reagor
Desmond Clark

The only two standouts in my mind are Wilson and Portis.

If Tatum Bell is a bust then to this point so is Bernard Pollard.....we'll see how that turns out though.

Pollard is still on the Chiefs and is a starter. At least he's got that going for him.

If sucking the life out of people were a sport Mecca would have a contract bigger than Peyton Manning.

Bernard Pollard isn't exactly impressive and Bell pretty much netted a solid starting corner for them....

To this day I fully believe Ko Simpson should have been the pick....and I'll stand by that.

We really whiffed when we selected Siavii over Bob Sanders a few years back. Oh well, every team misses....
