The AFL/AFC was unquestionably more competitive in the 60s/70s than in the 80s/early 90s. Which, y'know, is why they lost 13 straight and often by 7,000 points.

Whoever won the AFC during those years was simply the tallest midget. We should probably remove those minor league numbers from all future comparisons!

Lamar Hunt owned the Texans in his hometown of Dallas. The NFL real quick-like put a franchise in Dallas the same year. The Cowboys and Texans both started in 1960. Lamar Hunt hated to do it, but after three years he moved out of Dallas to accommodate the NFL.

And it worked ... The AFL became the first serious insurgent startup League to survive with all its original teams. In fact, the AFL expanded, so Miami Dolphins and Cincinnati Bengals. Although the Bengals were added after the merger had already been agreed to.

Lamar Hunt was a truly great man.

We count all of the regular season games played between the Chiefs and Broncos because they were all comparisons of the 2 teams at the same time. None of them are comparisons of the 2019 Chiefs to the 1968 Broncos or any such nonsense.

We dismiss the Packers' threepeat in the mid 60s because they were not all Super Bowls. No team has ever won 3 Super Bowls in a row. Period. End of story. That is not to say that the Packers never won 3 NFL championships in a row, because clearly, they did. However, anyone that says those 3 NFL championships in a row are comparable to the 3 Super Bowl championships in a row today is clearly making a specious argument. That is a specious argument just like you have admitted to making, so there is no surprise there.

The league is very different now than the 80s, or even 90s. Far more different than, say, the 60s vs 70s/80s. Maybe we should only compare numbers from this century?

We all know why you chose to begin your comparison the year after KC's first SB victory (and after a decade of dominance vs the Broncos), then end it right before the current run. It's no different than a KC fan beginning a comparison in 1999.

We disagree, I say it's the merger. A full 26 team inter-play schedule, that was the New World. The "Super Bowl" wasn't even called the Super Bowl, the first one didn't even sell out. But there's no "right answer," so ....

He didn't get lazy. He had crappy receivers around him. Look at last year and the start of this year. Look at his stats once Hopkins entered the fray and JuJu came back to KC. Once he lost Rice this year, he had Watkins, Skye Moore, a banged up Hardman, and Kelce. His stats have been fantastic since about week 8

Wrong again. The NY Titans went bankrupt in 1962 & were bailed out by the league and then Sonny Werblin organized the group that bought the franchise and renamed it the Jets in 1963. The Raiders ownership needed $400,000 to stay afloat in the early '60's & Ralph Wilson gave it to them. No such reports have been found anywhere about the Donkeys being in that spot.

The Jets and Raiders went on to become SB participants in the late '60's while your Donkeys SUCKED -- hence why HC Lou Saban (Donkeys HC 1967-1971) called them "the laughing stock of pro football", which remains intact unto this day.

If you were that disadvantaged for 10 years and went 1-19 against us, I'm sure it would suddenly make sense to you! You wouldn't want to count the games that you never had a chance to win either. Our quarterback years 2-4 was Frank Tripucka .... old Detroit Piston player Kelly Tripucka's Dad. He was an assistant coach, 37 or more years old. When our quarterback proved ineffective, he literally put on a uniform at halftime and took over. We couldn't afford much more than that .... he played 3 years until he was 41.

Irrelevant. They both started the same time and competed against each other twice a year. Team finances don’t matter. Just because you want to adjust the timeline to fit your narrative doesn’t change that.
