Agreed. I personally believe there is a POSSIBILITY his hand is absolutely ****ed and needs surgery. I also think that surgery COULD lead to him missing the majority of if not the entirety of his rookie year. If this is the case, he and the coaches likely chose to try and play the season with the messed up hand and get surgery at the end of the season. That may not price to be an option.
Also, this is a far out there possibility, but would explain a lot.
