Actually, getting rid of Mike Aviles is one of the things the Royals did right. Keep in mind, they booted a dude coming off of two years of batting .325 and .304. They were right, he turned into a below replacement or at replacement player, and now hits .250, below-avg defense, and doesn't get on base.

2013 War Mike Aviles - 0.7
2013 War Miguel Tejand - 0.6 (in less games)

Combining War of Tejada and Getz in the same amt of games, you still get more Win Above Replacement that Aviles.
