I mean...wtf?
I'm truly baffled. I live so comfortably it's ridiculous. And my next promotion is going to basically double my salary (and it will probably happen within the next 2 years since relocation to anywhere is not an issue).
I just don't understand.
Do you realize how much disposable income I have? I realize I am not rich, and that is not a lot of money for someone that has responsibilities, kids, or a family...
but I have NONE of that. None. I could live off of $18,000 if I needed to in Champaign. Probably less.

It doesn't matter what you have NOW. It matters what you will have when you eventually want to stop working (or you can no longer work). I'm not scolding you, I'm just saying that it would be a really good idea if you took some of that disposable income and built yourself a nice little retirement account. I know a lot of people that get cash income don't.
