Analysis: Need-based selection here. Nothing wrong with it. There are enough |Zach| haters that demanded this, so I think fulfilling it now and getting it out of the way is good. This will allow Hootie to make easier decisions down the line, when the pool of unfavorable candidates wanes thin and he has to start delivering names because they have pretty high rankings. Hootie didn't bring this up, but |Zach| also has been overweight on and off, which puts him up there in Hootie's frazod deficiency score.
I'm interested in how the 70-90ish rankings will shake down. There simply aren't enough well-known and established posters as the ones he's been ranking to fill out the entire list. Also consider that some guys like frazod and Dane McCloud are apparently not going to be ranked at all, so while Hootie is making sensible picks in the back, he's got to watch it not to blow his load too soon. Or else he'll be forced to make a bunch of WTF picks later-- posters who have been here under 2 years and/or have fewer than 3000 posts.
