It is entirely possible that clark is looking for a way to keep pioli but add another piece to the personnel puzzle. If the reports are true and Pioli has made clark a ton of money over the last few years, he might be looking for a way to preserve that functionality while simultaneously taking away some of pioli's power.

OR he could be waiting to see what happens with the head coaching position. IE bill cowher wants to come to KC but wants nothing to do with Pioli. Perhaps then Pioli becomes the business/negotiation point man while Cowher has final say over all drafting/personnel/coaching hires and changes.
Face it, Chiefs fans... we are Chiefs fans. Nothing is ever easy for us.
