You've got to give us more to the story.
What was exactly said. I'm just curious. Because how you explained it simply doesn't make sense.
"He had an issue with the way I was doing something at work, and absolutely laid into me with a verbal assault laced with profanity."
Just find it hard to believe that you did something wrong in your work to set a guy off on this long profanity laced assault with people watching and you apparently saying nothing until the very end.
