Man, here I am on both sides of the argument again...
1) Butler is not worth 3/4 of that group of prospects. I don't think. Not quite. Maybe if his whole career thus far had displayed the HR pop he has in 2012. MAYBE you get one of Tallon/Cole and one of Herredia/Marte. But not 3/4.
2) Butler is certainly making a case as an elite hitter this season. Guys that hit .300/30/100 with ..370 OBP and .500 SLG are at least right on the cusp of "elite." Butler's OPS currently ranks him No. 36 (ahead of Curtis Granderson, Adam Dunn, Albert Pujols, Mark Teixeira, Andre Ethier, and Jay Bruce, among others.
What's "elite?" Top 40? Top 25? Top 10?
