Although on Nightmare, if he's who I think he is (bloodmage in the alienage with a billion hp) I think I might have activated the fight, ran up the stairs and out of his line of sight (he didn't follow), carefully pulled and cleared the adds as they came up and then finally killed him. And when I did fight him, I kept my party all far apart, and used Dispel Magic/Transmutation every time he did anything (that will clear any spell he's casting and heal anybody he's damaging - it's a very, very, very useful spell in the Spirit tree). Basically kept him Horrored, Petrified and Dispeled as long as it took to kill him.

i got him ... just had my tank pommel stun him while everyone else went full retreat and ran around a couple of corners into a nice long,narrow alley. Then had tank run around in a big circle to agro everyone and then led them all back to the killing zone.
mostly i just need room to work
