People have also been saying silly things like "PC gaming is dying" for years (last year was the biggest year in PC gaming history, believe it or not, over 16 billion in sales worldwide).
I actually think downloadable sales have probably done more to fight piracy than DRM. It's certainly fueled the growth of PC sales. I know I haven't purchased a boxed game in literally years now (I think Fallout 3 in 2008 was the last). And it's probably been since 2006 since I...acquired anything PC game related through...illicit channels.

I'm not saying that PC gaming is dying or dead, I'm just saying that I agree with EA that piracy greatly hurts PC gaming industry's profits while leaving the console market relatively unscathed.
