CU had no desire to take place in conference talks. This hasn't been something that's been 2 weeks in the making, it's been discussed for months. CU was leaving once they got the Pac 10 invite, there's nothing that would have happened in these conference talks that could have convinced them to stay.
CU's invitation was independent of Texas' invitation, every other schools' was conditional on a Texas acceptance.
