Jeremy Maclin is a full time player. Dexter McCluster is a scat back/WR project.
Maclin was also a much more productive player than McCluster ever was, and he fit a legitimate need at a starting position in a shallow draft.
McCluster may fit a need at a complementary position in a deep draft where value abounded at our pick.
There's no "WTF" involved, it's rationalization.
