Laurence Maroney ****ing sucks.

With the addition last year of Volmer, as well as the drafting of Bruce Campbell, the Patriots have strengthened a line that was on a precipitous decline. In addition to merely having decent pass blockers, they are slowly adding pieces that can help in the run game, which can also balance out an offense that won't have a 100% Wes Welker, and may not have Randy Moss at all.

Tom Brady needs protection, and he's not going to get it from Sam Aiken, Julian Edelman, or any receiver available right now. Decker would have been a great fit, but this pick is just too ****ing obvious.

They have the 3rd down/pass catching role filled. They don't have a running back that can get them consistent yardage or wear a defense down after they've established the pass. This guy can do this.

The New England Patriots select LeGarrette Blount, RB, Oregon.
