However MOST good coordinators move on to other teams and often find success again. Lots of coordinators fail as head coaches, but then return to the coordinator ranks where they shined and find success again.

Bill Walsh was GM of the 49ers in the 80's just like Policy was in the 90's.
They didn't move into new positions, they moved into the same positions they were in elsewhere and failed.
Same with Jimmy Johnson.
