The only time I was ever in the hospital, I had a weird kind of food poisoning. I had a stomach pump for several days and threw up constantly, and really didn't feel very good.
After I got the stomach pump out, I was dying for a shower, so I limped to the bathroom and showered. I limped back to the bed.
The nursing staff was very, very nice overall, but I remember one of them kind of gently chewing me out because I didn't notice that the shower curtain was outside the tub, so a lot of water got onto the floor and she had to mop it up.
I feel guilty about it now, but I remember at the time looking at her blankly and more or less ignoring her, thinking, "Spilling water on the bathroom floor is about 900th on my list of things to feel bad about right now."
