If Carroll feels Mark is making a mistake, fine. He's entitled to that opinion.
But what I don't understand is what there is to gain for Carroll in making it public, other than trying to embarrass Mark, or get him to change his mind. Calling out the decision publicly serves no good purpose, IMO.

Maybe he was hoping the kid would change his mind. As long as he didn't talk to an agent he could have had a change of heart.
