I work in the flooring business and we're definitelely down from the past few years. The builder business is way down, the retail business slightly down. At the end of the year my income won't be much lower than last year. Problem, though, is the money isn't worth as much. Gas, groceries, clothes - the dollar just doesn't go as far as it did before.

What worries me more than my income is the income of the company I work for. We're a small business, about $4M a year, and the cash flow just isn't as good as it has been in the past. We got burned by some builders who haven't paid us and we've gotten behind with some of our vendors. Right now we're ok but the slow winter months are coming. It will be a challenge.

I shudder at the idea of drinking Keystone Light.
