I may be way off base here. But I can't help but think that the best thing for you GC as I see it is to get off your ass and join one of the services.
Get your ass out of the basement and out of Dodge. Get a free education, learn a trade. Go see the world. And you just may end up finding the nerd girl of your dreams working right next to you.
