I'm an East Coast girl, but I'm living in Houston while I work on my PhD in virology. My thesis is actually on viruses that cause cancer. So I guess you could say I'm trying to cure cancer... Well, that might be a bit ambitious for the next 5 years, but you can't blame a girl for trying. I'm really into indie and rock music.

I've been to 23 concerts and loved almost all of them (we won't discuss the Backstreet Boys concert with my little sister in '98). Taking Back Sunday and Something Corporate are two of my favorite bands, but I really love listening to everything and trying out new bands. I have two very fun dogs - a chihuahua-dachshund mix named Inara and a happy, fuzzy mutt named Nedd, as well as a kitten named Chiquita.

I own nearly every book that Stephen King has written, and I admit to being a Harry Potter fan. I love sci-fi and fantasy books, movies, and tv shows. I really love my current "career" as a student/underpaid scientist. I hope to someday have a real job where they pay me real money to work on this whole curing cancer thing. My friends insist that I'm a nerd... and I'm sure they're right. I'm not much for the bar scene, but I enjoy hanging out with friends for barbecue or game night.

I'm really just looking for a laid-back guy who I connect with. I'm not looking for a high maintenance guy, just someone with a unique personality who can hold an intelligent conversation. I don't want to watch sports all night, but I don't want to discuss serious issues all day either. I'm a pretty relaxed person, so don't be shy!
