There are a few elite rbs, and they probably will give you production above their cap hit. What I don't want is to be saddled down with a next tier RB getting overpaid when we all know that the line plan is critical to their success outside a handful of rbs each decade. (Besides, we've talking about 4th round or later guys here anyway, and I thought our TE / middle of the field pass coverage last year was a bigger issue than the RBs)
If they solved their LT problem for the next decade, they just pulled off a minor miracle and they should install a glory hole in Brett's office and put a bronze statute of him outside Arrowhead.

There are certainly merits to your line of thinking, investing in the trenches through the draft is rarely a bad thing
I just believe Mahomes deserves an elite guy back there for once, it would truly unlock this entire offense IMO... not to mention backs are mostly what got me into football as a kid, so I'm kinda biased that way
