I was just saying to duncan that Azareye'h Thomas at 63, Jaylin Noel at 66, and Xavier Watts at 95 would sure feel like straight-up amazing values, but they pushed needs. I do really like Nohl Williams in the 3rd and I do really like Gilotte as a player. This is probably where we needed to take him, I don't think he'd have made it to even where we traded for Williams.

I have a different habit and approach to the draft the last several years than I used to. Not from lack of interest or enjoyment but I just don’t get to watch college ball so I take a look at the weigh ins and the charts by position group. The college all star games then the combine and pro days and late players of interest who don’t get invited to the combine etc. So it’s simply height weight arm and hand length wingspan. Then YouTube highlights. Post free agency who fits to replace who you lost and who adds something you don’t currently have in the group or who just fits the prototype you’re looking for.
Last year the need for a TE with the bigger catch radius like Wiley and Cupp as a UDFA. I liked Wiley simply because of those measures. This year I thought of who is an undersized DT type like Wharton and of course Lott fits that just better arm length. From the measurements list in my mind Gillette I had the thought of under sized DE with terrible length so maybe he’s a undersized DT Wharton type we can grow on the taxi squad and didn’t bother watching his highlights. Completely off. Guy is simply a gamer it seems
The trend seems to be moving away from the obvious look like Tarzan plays like Jane types. A josh Kaindoh type I would personally drool over.
