Analysis from different sources, don’t shoot the messenger:
ESPN:
“Pre-draft analysis:
Norman-Lott explodes off the ball, gets under offensive linemen and drives them into the backfield. He is long and strong enough to press blockers with his frame, and he rarely stays blocked. He gets into gaps to disrupt plays, and he tracks the ball well before chasing it down with good effort. Norman-Lott also gets off the ball well, and he always attacks the outside shoulder of the offensive guard as a pass rusher. Maintaining violent hands, he can squeeze the pocket and shed at the top of his rush as a bull rusher. -- Steve Muench
Post-Draft Analysis
I was the lowest on Norman-Lott of our group of analysts, but the defensive tackle board has really been wiped out throughout the opening two rounds. Kansas City needed to identify a tackle who can play next to Chris Jones -- and maybe even serve as his eventual replacement. Norman-Lott's high potential is backed by his explosive quickness and overall athletic tools. He'll get to learn how to be more consistent alongside one of the best defensive tackles in the league. -- Matt Miller”
The Athletic:
“ 63. Kansas City Chiefs: Omarr Norman-Lott, DT, Tennessee
Norman-Lott is this draft’s ultimate boom-or-bust defensive lineman. He flashes plenty of athletic ability and potential to make big plays (combined 9.5 sacks the last two seasons), but he make a single start in 2024 and averaged just 17.3 snaps per game. Based on athletic ability, Norman-Lott could start for a decade; based on precedent, he could be out of the league in three years. This is a little high for that type of risk.”
Walter football:
“ Kansas City Chiefs: Omar Norman-Lott, DT, Tennessee – B+ Grade
The Chiefs need offensive line more than anything, but they also had to find a defensive tackle to play next to Chris Jones. Omar Norman-Lott could be a quality starter. He’s a smaller defensive tackle, but gets good pressure on the quarterback. He makes sense at the bottom of Round 2.”
