You come into 2026 with rice in year 4, Worthy in year 3 and Burden with a full season under his belt, you're FLYING.

And now you've created your ladder. You can extend Rice if you want...or not. You're under no pressure to do so.

And again, I think Burden would be a contributor this season. Maybe more gadget stuff, but Brown, Worthy and/or Rice are likely to miss 10+ games between the 3 of them due to injury or suspension.

Near term he offers more than Simmons would. Long term more than most would.

Now if Harmon or Nolen are there it's a different story. But I'm operating under the presumption that they won't be.

So if you're asking me if I'd prefer Scourton (rotational player that may struggle to get snaps over FAU, Omenihu and Danna in 2024) or Conerly (almost certain redshirt) or Kenneth Grant (again, probable rotational role behind Jones/Pennell and not obviously more talented than TJ Sanders who will be around later) over Burden? Nah. Gimme Luther. Or Egbuka.

Because I think you see many of the same rotational player concerns with other spots in the roster as well as the same long-term paths to playing time.

So gimme the best pure talent.

To me, the WRs are better than the rest of the guys I named.
Appreciably better than Jalen Royals or Jaylin Noel that you might get in round 2? Or what about a Tory Horton, Isaiah Bond, or Kyle Williams in round 3? I mean, I really like Egbuka and would love him on the Chiefs, but I also look at this being our #3 WR/Slot and where we're taking that guy from a value standpoint.

Meanwhile, I don't think we handwave consideration for some really good CBs like Azareye'h Thomas, Trey Amos, or Shavon Revel.. Sure, not a ton of snaps in 2024 sans an injury, but you have a starter next year and beyond. You can't just dismiss the future and look at the now.

What about a LB? Would Carson Schwesinger not move the needle substantially over Tranquil? Yeah, positional value might be a thing, but really exceptional LBs make a huge difference.

And then, Mason Taylor has firmly been a top-40 player throughout the process. He is a really good TE. He will be a #1 TE in this league. Gray is a great complementary piece. I love him as a #2. I don't think he's going to be the next in a lineage of great TEs here. Taylor could be.

And if TreVeyon Henderson is sitting there, as much as there are a ton of great backs in this draft, there is not a more perfect match for Andy Reid and what he likes to do with that position. He would probably see as many or more targets in the passing game as a slot WR would. That kid would turn Reid back into the kid in the candy store that made this offense great. In Brian Westbrook's heyday, he had 73-703-6, 61-616-4, 77-699-4, 90-771-5, and 54-402-5. A couple of those seasons he also rushed for over 1200 yards. Henderson can have that type of passing game impact.

I am not firmly on the WR in Round 1 bandwagon.
