It's just incredibly risk averse. It suggests that they don't believe they can get 80% the production for a fraction of the cost.

Uh...fellas....just how many spots do you think you have available on that OL at that point? Especially when Jaylon Moore was a tire fire at RT in SF and Joshua Simmons injury to his POWER LEG means he can't play RT or something like that...
We kept CJ Hanson on the roster all year -- there had to be SOME reason for that? Nourzad is around. OGs exist on the 2nd day of the draft every single season and often the 3rd day.
It just seems like a really poor use of resources. One of those situations where we figured out how to clear the cap so we might as well spend it. And I just think that's a poor decision.
