If what you're saying is true, he wouldn't get drafted in the 1st round period. End of story. If the injury were as bad as you are making it out to be, he wouldn't be a 1st round pick, and all these plugged in guys wouldn't be talking like he is one.
Trey Smith fell to ****ing day 3 for something that hasn't ever even been an issue. They are very cautious with this kind of shit. All teams are.
If the Chiefs takes Simmons, they are not throwing their pick away. That is ridiculous hyperbole. If they take him, it's because their medical staff feels great about it.

Graham came back to be a solid starting level TE, but he was never again a STAR TE like he was before the injury. He lost speed and explosiveness and was no longer a total mismatch nightmare.
It's not me making the patellar tendon tear out to be an absolute disaster. It is history.
Maybe he's the unicorn who does come back and is the same physically, but there's no reason to believe that other than hope.
