Consumers kinda dug their own graves in a lot of ways. I can't imagine buying appliances without ever being able to so much as pull the handle to see if it feels cheap is what folks had in mind when they started shopping online but that's where we are now.

We're seeing less inventory and more of that sort of purchasing with cars as well.

I really don't care for it at all.
I blame the consumer not the seller as I previously mentioned. It's the sellers job to sell and they are doing just fine at that.
I read that Hyunadai is going or is selling through Amazon now, bypassing their dealers.

Further worsening things for the store and their desire to maintain stock levels.

I really don’t understand how people do instacart. If I ordered instacart from Target, based on my experience with their site showing things being available vs reality, I am certain 25% of my order wouldn’t show up in the bags.
Yeah, it is a downward spiral. The cost of doing business requires volume to maintain inventory and employees.
Last Christmas I went to Dillards and Belk. Dillards had very little inventory and no help. Belk had plenty of inventory and no help.

I was ignorant of the fact that Amazon actually stocked inventory until watching this Netflix show.

I have often wondered why they don't recycle boxes but now I see that is a fly speck compared to the other issues.
