Anson Mount did such a good job that it got him a season pass for me -- I'll watch anything he's in. That's why I watched Strange New Worlds (and he's great in it as well).

I liked the show well enough that I read the Ambrose book, 'Nothing Like it in the World' afterwards.

We don't give enough credit to how monumentally important the Trans-Continental Railroad was to making America into a superpower. "From Sea to Shining Sea" just wasn't a thing until the late 1800s when we finished that thing and suddenly we could move material across the continent. We were no longer so waterbound and it really opened up middle America and the West for legitimate development.
