It’s showing a commitment to Mahomes. Mahomes is the most important person in the organization and we need to keep him happy. Plus I think Simmons is a great value in the 20s and if he’s available go get him. Simmons could be the starter later in the season. Simmons has all the traits you look for. He’s a freak athlete and he’s strong too.

If Simmons checks out medically, he will go well before the Chiefs pick. Conerly is really the only realistic option.
