I will say that while most of my Army bros absolutely hated the place I had a pretty good time when off post and away from the training environment. It was even reasonably safe to hop over the boarder into Juarez, but from what I've read that's no longer the case.

Yeah, the demos and business I was doing was for "maquiadoras" (sp) companies that had locations on both sides of the border. Thompson telivisione was one making tvs on the same assembly line for several big names.
Quite an operation as were several. We are talking around close to 30 years ago now so a lot has probably changed.
