Never, and I mean NEVER make HNL into some kind of hub to get to better tropical pacific places unless you happen to have hotel stays (before and after the places you connected to thru HNL) built into your stay. HNL has to be one of the biggest regional (and little more) airports I've been a vicim of recently.

I may visit Hawaii again, but HNL will get never get pass-through recommendations from me.
