More likely scenario is we turn his $32m roster bonus and prorate it. Mahomes’ contract is reasonable in the back years. But it’s a hand you don’t want to keep playing over and over.

He wouldn't do that simply for the precedent he'd be setting. He cares about legacy a lot, but he also isn't going to sell out the players.
