He can get a bidding war going with how rare it is for LTs to hit free agency.
Doing anything quick is just in the Rams best interest. We aren’t midseason where he has any injury risk.

I saw they weren't going to tag him as well, but I'm assuming they've opened up some room with the Stafford deal. That could be totally off base, though.
They also might feel comfortable just going back to Joe Noteboom, who was originally pegged as the replacement for Whitworth and will probably come much cheaper. That could be why they aren't overly worried about Jackson testing the market.
I just don't see how you resign an aging statue like Stafford and then let his stud LT leave, but stranger things have happened I suppose. I'll definitely keep holding out hope until I hear otherwise.
