Most likely, this opens enough room for them to tag him if needed while they work on a long term deal. We'll see what happens, but it seems highly unlikely they let him walk now.

Maybe. Word had been that they weren’t going to tag Jackson.
If they don’t, I don’t see why Jackson would hurry to sign a deal.
He can get a bidding war going with how rare it is for LTs to hit free agency.
Doing anything quick is just in the Rams best interest. We aren’t midseason where he has any injury risk.
