I'd argue that it's easier to find competent G's than it is competent DE's, but that argument atleast makes sense to me. Not overpaying OBJ for average play has allowed them to go sign other guys and or keep guys they like.

The cap is more than fine dude. They’re gonna have plenty of money, especially after they clear some of the higher paid contracts off the books this time next year.
They can extend McDuffie to a big deal and still have money. We are by no means cap strapped.
Don’t want to pay Trey? I get it. But the Chiefs have the money to pay multiple big contracts.
