Well, the new cat is still scared of everything and constantly hides. I've never had one like this before - all the ones I had before either got over it in a day or two or just strolled in like they owned the place. Hell, the last female cat I had came in as a five week old kitten, walked right up to the alpha who was ten times her size, and smacked him in the face. He ran from her. This one seems to be the complete opposite. Obviously this is going to be a process. How long a process is anybody's guess at this point.
I did finally get her to purr today, though. That was good sign.
