So fascinating think I learned during my own ankle rehab.
You have two muscles in your calf. the one you see on the outside and one that's almost like the 'tender' in a chicken breast that's buried underneath the big one.
That smaller one really does a lot that you don't realize and it tends to atrophy fairly quickly.
I think Watson's return will come down to how quickly he can build back the strength in his lower leg/calf after having it mostly immobilized for as long as he has.
I'm betting by any 'normal' standard he's healed at this point. He probably walks around on it with no trouble. But to get that back into playing shape, he's gonna have to get strength back in there. That's just gonna take a little time.
(That photo doesn't inspire a ton of confidence, to be honest. Left calf seems quite a bit smaller).
