If you watched Elway play extensively throughout his career, like I did, or go to You Tube and watch some full games of Elway, it's very easy to see that often times Elway's arm strength worked against him -- continually throwing that off-target 110 MPH fastball, as though Elway was throwing a baseball instead of a football.
An example of that can be seen in the Donks playoff loss to the Jags in the 1996 playoffs when the Donks went up 12-0 and tried for a 2-pt conversion. The 2-point try went like this:
Elway pulls a turd out of his back pocket & throws it in off-target, 110-MPH fashion AT Shannon Sharpe and it splats off Sharpe's upper right hip and falls to the ground incomplete (Rodgers would have completed this pass 999 times out of 1000).
