That seems to be the idea however, Pat is so much better when the play breaks down and something different happens. I believe that teams have studied the Chiefs, their OL blocking schemes, routes and Pat's tendencies so they can set thing up to exploit weaknesses. The king always has a target on his back and when one arrow hits the mark, others are going to use the same pattern.
The Chiefs have to adjust instead of the league adjusting to them. The rest of the league knows the tendencies and something has to change.
The WR injuries has been brutal; having Rice would have made all the difference. The Bills played a lot of man coverage and took Kelce away; he's just not a man beater. Expect to see a lot more of this until the Chiefs prove they can go over the top consistently again.
