I don't mind the FG a bit.
But like you, some of the punt decisions are strange to me.
The punt from the 50 made sense -- way too much time in the event Butker misses. And that's a looooooooong kick. Something like 26 seconds and 2 timeouts for the Bengals and McPherson is a good kicker in his own right. That's one completion away from a FG for Cincy.
But the punt in the Baltimore game is crazy.
And you know what's really crazy about it? The Chiefs have no compunction at all with allowing the opponent to start a drive on the 30 yard line every single time. They are clearly giving it to them on the kickoffs with those touchebacks.
So they're fine with them starting at the 30...but not the 40? Why? What in the hell sense does that make?
Andy has the best kicker in the world at his disposal and for some strange reason, felt that it was just too risky to let them start a drive at the 40 when they've have started from the 30 had he actually made the kick.
I didn't get that one at all.
