Honestly, I think the league welcomes the negative press, hell ANY press. The WNBA is trending. For the wrong reasons? Perhaps. But it's trending nonetheless, and I think that is all they care about at this point.
Clark may be less the savior and more the sacrificial lamb. For as many people who tune in to watch her score points, just as many want to see her get beat to shit.
Besides, it's too late now for the league to start cracking down on hostility because Clark hasn't been the only 'victim'. It's rather rampant. If the WNBA takes a hard stance now, it'll only fuel the anti-Clark sentiment and an inevitable belief that the league is softening itself to accommodate Clark and her inability to adapt to pro-level physicality.
