Purdy's great numbers against the blitz this year are inflated by the fact that so many teams play the Niners with 5 down linemen to combat the condensed formations and running attack. Those are considered blitzes in the stats, but they're not really designed to pressure the QB.
If you look at snaps on which Purdy sees at least one defensive back rusher, he's still good, just not MVP-savant-generational-talent good, as Niners fans claim. He's fourth in success rate, and 12th in EPA. But he's pressured on 50% of those dropbacks.
And the Chiefs lead the league in unblocked pressures and pressures generated when blitzing.
