Danna-Wharton-Karlaftis-Jones with Bolton threatening the A gap and a slot DB or LB also at the LOS showing blitz potential. Force them to keep Kittle in to block. Do weird stuff ... send 6. Send 5. Send 4. Send 3.
See how they handle it.

Ab-so-lutely.
1st and maybe 2nd downs, I'd have Jones lined up over RT with the idea that it hems the 49ers into short passes and/or runs and keeps Kittle in to block.
3rd downs I'd kick him back inside because in a Nickel setup I think we can hang with Kittle in coverage well enough. With or without Gay, Tranquill can at least keep Kittle honest and make him work for his yards (like Goedert was doing last SB).
But if you're Spags you can help dictate what the offense is doing by using Jones at LE and forcing them to keep Kittle in or run the ball. Do that with Pennell/Farrell in the middle and I really don't think running the ball will be easy sledding for them.
I honestly question how the SF offense has been this solid all season with two fairly substantial problems on their OL. Those guys just ain't good at all.
