I just rewatched the replay because of your post to see if my memory was failing me or you were just wrong... it was the latter.
First, Purdy only threw 4 interceptions not 5.
Second, all of the picks were due to either throwing the ball directly to the defense, trying to throw to a covered WR (the defender put a hand in to knock the ball out before the WR touched it), or the defense just jumping up at the line and causing the interception.
Purdy was responsible for those picks period. There were no passes that were thrown to a WR that they tipped the ball up in the air due to not catching it.
Purdy made horrible decisions and paid for it.
