It was obvious to everyone except Steve Spagnuolo that Sean Payton wasn't wanting Russ to throw unless absolutely necessary, and he did nothing about it. He played pass and was ritualistically fisted all game by the running backs.
Donks won the time of possession by about 7 and a half minutes, that being the length of time that just one of their offensive series lasted.
The opportunities will be there for Elliot and the rest of the NE running back room.
Old school run it and play defense is how you beat this year's Chiefs. We don't get off the field defensively until large chunks of time has passed, the game gets shortened, and this offense has proven that it needs every possession it can possibly get to generate points, because they can't stop stepping on their dick and the coach is chomping at the bit to punt the football inside the enemy 40.
