Toney looks like Toney to me, when they actually use him as a WR. He separates, he's electric with the ball. Other than the terrible first game. I have no idea why they're using him as little as they are, or as weirdly when they do.
Go back and watch Rice's college highlights. We've not even come close to seeing what he does best.
No argument that we're not seeing the results we'd all like.
My argument is that there is talent there, it's not showing yet CONSISTENTLY.
Everything is just a click off.
I'd put money on Andy and Patrick locking it in.

Didn’t say catch and run is bad. But we tripled down on it. It was our solution last year. And defenses have adapted. just because a guy can juke guys out of their shorts doesn’t mean he is a route runner let alone a consistent or smart one. Right now we lack the flexibility to adapt out of catch and run and it shows. We need guys who can create before the ball gets into their hands. While I appreciate the optimism you’re asking for consistency out of guys who have an established career of inconsistency.
I’d bet money that Andy and Patrick will figure it out. They figured it out in 2020 also and we can ride that to the finish. But it’s a bandaid until we can start getting more consistent guys out there.
