A: Ok this other receiver is also doing well on his team, we should have gotten him
B: No, clearly he wouldn't have done well here because of this reason ____....

A: Oh well, how about this other receiver, he's not doing great on his team but I think he would have been good for us
B: You wanted him? Look at what he's doing on his current team! And you wanted him?!? Clearly this means you didn't appreciate us winning the Superbowl last year and that you think we can't win the Superbowl this year and you're not a true fan!
Wow, this is nonsense. So few of these conversations are about fit and so many more are about the resources involved in getting these players and the timelines mentioned.

We have people here who are saying "we didn't even consider Amari Cooper" who was traded at a point where the team's central scenario was that it would retain Tyreek Hill.

We have others who are saying "we could've easily traded for Calvin Ridley!" despite the fact that we had traded for Toney days before Ridley was traded and Ridley wasn't even going to play last season down the stretch when we wanted help.

We have others who are saying "we could've easily taken a flyer on Adam Thielen!" despite the fact that it looked like he was dropping off at age 33 and the dude went for 2/18mm - not exactly a value signing ex ante.

We have others who are saying "we could've traded for Hollywood Brown" despite the fact that we have no idea if he was available and what it would've cost to get him. Ditto Hopkins.

It's people who are complaining just to complain without understading the real world context in which these decisions exist.

I fully understand being frustrated with our offense and our WRs this year. I think the bulk of it is indeed the WRs, but I also don't think Mahomes has played particularly well in isolation (by his standards) and don't think Reid has pushed a lot of the right buttons. The hope is the bye weeks helps them to self-scout and fix things.

If not, so be it. I'll only be upset is we don't succeed this year and then if this team keeps the same receivers in place for next year. But given Veach's track record, the probability of that is negative.

But I'm fully onboard with the team they've built thus far as I see the logic in all of the choices they've made for this year and in the future.
