I still think the goal for this defense is ultimately to be great but maybe more on the edge of elite than actually elite. While they're elite it's awesome to have. Let's ride the hell out of it. But is that sustainable? I dunno. I do feel like the offense, on the other hand, is really easy to sustain and requires a way lower investment to make us elite. All the more reason to always ensure the offense is set for years to come.
It's certainly not easier to keep an elite offense than defense. It's equally difficult, as we've seen.
